Ziegel products enable you to create the complete building shell, from the cellar to the roof, in one material. The Ziegel system has a large range of standard and special products available for constructing walls, floors and roofs. Ziegel products easily conform to the structural, thermal and acoustic requirements.

The benefits of clay, modern technology and environmentally-friendly production techniques are combined in Ziegel products.

Ziegel blocks have tongue and grooved perp design. No mortar is required. The block is simply slotted into position by butting up tightly. The "honeycombed" extrusions trap air when the block is laid, providing a good thermal performance Sawdust, introduced into the wet clay mix prior to firing, completely burns up leaving millions of tiny air-pockets within the clay. This further improves thermal performance.

The Planziegel system is a further development of the traditional Ziegel system. The Planziegel block is additionally planed, on its top and underside surfaces, for millimetre accuracy. It is laid onto a 1mm thin bed joint which is applied with a mortar roller. It ensures improved speed and accuracy of build.

Solid Ziegel walls are simple to design and easy to build. Ideal for the self builder! No need for cavity ties, trays or insulation bats, vertical damp courses or membranes for air tightness

Rendered Ziegel walls are air tight. Using lightweight renders, U-values as low as 0.21W/(m_K) can be achieved.

A Ziegel construction provides ideal living conditions all year round. Internal walls, built with a higher density Ziegel block, absorb and store heat. This is slowly released back into the room when the surrounding temperature drops. Keeping the Ziegel construction cool in Summer and warm in Winter.

Ziegel has the lowest natural moisture equilibrium of all building materials. Good vapour permeability naturally regulates internal humidity levels. Ziegels high absorbencey rapidly transports moisture to the outside environment, keeping wall surfaces dry. Areas of surface condensation, which encourage mould formation, do not occur. Ziegel contains no poisonous substances and does not emit harmful vapours or gases, dust particles or fibres. It has the ability to filter out toxins from the air.
